Detailed itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KILIFI – CREEKSIDE RELAXATION & SUNSET

  • Arrival & Transfer
    Arrival at Malindi or Mombasa Airport. Meet and greet by Africo Safari representative followed by transfer to your creekside resort in Kilifi (approximately 1 hour). Check-in and enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. Lunch at the resort.

  • Kilifi Creek Relaxation
    Afternoon at leisure by Kilifi Creek with options for relaxation by the pool or waterfront. Optional dhow cruise at sunset for stunning photo opportunities along the creek.

  • Dinner & Overnight
    Dinner at the resort or optional private seafood grill by the creek. Overnight in Kilifi.

DAY 2: TAKAUNGU VILLAGE & ARABUKO SOKOKE FOREST

  • Breakfast at the Resort

    • Takaungu Cultural Experience
      Explore the historic Swahili village of Takaungu. Discover traditional Swahili architecture and interact with local artisans. Optional Swahili cooking session or bead-making workshop for hands-on cultural immersion.

  • Arabuko Sokoke Forest Exploration
    Guided nature walk through East Africa’s largest coastal forest. Bird watching featuring endemic species such as the Sokoke Scops Owl and Clarke’s Weaver. Visit butterfly and medicinal plant conservation projects. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the forest surroundings.

  • Return to Kilifi for dinner and overnight. Optional sunset walk at Bofa Beach.

DAY 3: MARAFA DEPRESSION & TRANSFER TO TSAVO EAST

    Explore the dramatic sandstone canyon formations. Learn local folklore and geological history from your guide. Capture stunning landscape photography during golden light hours.

  • Transfer to Tsavo East National Park
    Scenic drive to Tsavo East (approximately 5 hours). Check-in at safari lodge or luxury tented camp.

  • Evening Safari Experience
    Short evening game drive or relaxation at the lodge. Dinner and overnight inside the park.

DAY 4: FULL DAY SAFARI – TSAVO EAST ADVENTURE

  • Early Breakfast & Game Drive
    Full-day safari inside Tsavo East National Park in a private 4x4 vehicle. Search for the Big Five including lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos. Explore iconic areas such as Aruba Dam, Mudanda Rock, and panoramic views of the Yatta Plateau. Bird watching and wildlife photography opportunities throughout the day.

  • Picnic Lunch in the Wild

  • Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: MORNING SAFARI & DEPARTURE

  • Return Transfer
