Detailed itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MALINDI – WELCOME TO THE COAST

  • Airport Arrival & Transfer
    Arrival at Malindi Airport or transfer from Mombasa. Meet and greet by Africo Safari representative followed by transfer to your beach resort (approximately 10–20 minutes). Check-in and enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. Lunch at the hotel depending on arrival time.

  • Beach Relaxation
    Spend the afternoon relaxing at the beach or swimming pool. Optional beach walk along the Indian Ocean shoreline or spa treatment at extra cost.

  • Dinner & Overnight
    Dinner and overnight stay at Ocean Beach Resort & Spa.

DAY 2: WATAMU MARINE NATIONAL PARK ADVENTURE

  • Breakfast & Transfer to Watamu
    Early breakfast followed by a scenic drive to Watamu (approximately 45 minutes).

  • Marine Park Experience
    Glass-bottom boat ride across turquoise waters. Snorkeling over vibrant coral reefs. Swimming in clear ocean waters. Seasonal dolphin spotting. Seafood lunch at a beach restaurant in Watamu. Relaxation time at Watamu Beach.

  • Return to Malindi in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: GEDE RUINS & ARABUKO SOKOKE FOREST

    Guided exploration of the 12th-century Swahili settlement including the Great Mosque, palace ruins, and ancient coral stone houses.

  • Arabuko Sokoke Forest Nature Experience
    Guided forest walk in one of East Africa’s largest coastal forests. Bird watching with over 270 recorded species. Optional visit to the local butterfly project. Picnic or lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the resort for relaxation.

  • Dinner and overnight in Malindi.

DAY 4: MARAFA DEPRESSION – HELL’S KITCHEN

  • Morning Leisure
    Breakfast at leisure followed by free time for beach relaxation or swimming.

  • Afternoon Canyon Excursion
    Drive to Marafa Depression (approximately 1.5 hours). Guided exploration of the dramatic sandstone canyon. Learn the local legends of “Nyari.” Sunset photography experience showcasing the canyon’s changing colors.

  • Return to Malindi in the evening for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO KILIFI – CREEK & DHOW EXPERIENCE
